October 2015 – “Homeland Security Training in New York State”
Rick Mathews, Director of the National Center for Security and Preparedness (NCSP) at the University at Albany visited John Jay College to discuss recent investments made by the State in the Oriskany facilities. His discussion revealed the training vision of homeland security in New York as it looks to strengthen the terrorist response capability in the wake of increased threats to Homeland Security for the state of New York. The NCSP provides technical assistance, conducts research, develops and delivers training across the nation in the areas of homeland security, infrastructure protection, intelligence, counter-terrorism, and information sharing, Mathews also discussed the formation of a new College of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness at the University at Albany.
