April 2015 – RaCERS coordinates FEMA-sponsored Exercise in New Haven, CT. RaCERS staff and students helped support and organize a Continuity of Operations (COOP) tabletop exercise for fire service leaders across FMA Region I. The event, held at the New Haven Regional Fire Academy, was co-sponsored by the Connecticut Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, University of New Haven, and FEMA Region I. Featured speakers included William Hackett, Connecticut State Emergency Management Director; Wayne Sandford of the University of New Haven; Rick Fontana of the City of New Haven; and Deputy Chief Michael Puzziferri (FDNY, ret.) of RaCERS. Russ Webster, Federal Preparedness Coordinator for FEMA Region I, facilitated the event.
