The Master of Science Program in Protection Management (PMT) fills a unique role in the educational curricula of the College. The PMT program combines the disciplines of fire science, emergency management and security with a strong base in general management. The goal is to educate personnel suited to high-level public employment and private sector employment in the security, fire safety, emergency management or risk management functions.
By virtue of our location and students, we attract a broad range of experienced professionals looking to become better-rounded, obtain cutting edge skills and prepare for advancements. Out students include corporate security staff, high-level police and fire administrators, and members of the uniformed services. We also have a cadre of international students in the program, representing the elite managers from nations such as South Korea, Trinidad, and Tobago, Taiwan and Turkey.
Our alumni have found employment in a variety of settings including corporate contingency planning, security, loss prevention and in emergency management agencies including the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the New York City Mayor’s Office of Emergency Management (NYCOEM).
