RACERS MARKS PASSING OF JAMES MURTAGH, FORMER FDNY ASSISTANT CHIEF, AUTHOR, JOHN JAY FACULTY
RaCERS Faculty, Fire and Emergency Services faculty marked the passing of James Murtagh. Murtagh, reached the rank of Assistant Chief of Training for the FDNY, and was widely known and respected visionary for the fire service. Murtagh also taught for any years as an adjunct in the Fire Service Administration and Protection Management programs, where he influenced several generations of leaders in fire and emergency services.
Former RaCERS Director Charles Jennings and former Adjunct Instructor and alum John Grasso represented the College’s programs at the wake. Murtagh taught Jennings and Grasso. Grasso also worked directly with Chief Murtagh at FDNY.
