Emergency Responder Health and Safety Conference March 20
The Christian Regenhard Center for Emergency Response Studies (RaCERS) is proud to present a first responder health and safety conference on March 20, 2020 at John Jay College, 524 West 59 Street in Manhattan.
The event is a combination of short speakers addressing the emerging threats to emergency responders, and is designed to identify common threats and concerns facing police, fire, and EMS responders in the urban environment. There will be panels on mental health, labor perspectives, and technology.
This event will bring together active responders, psychologists, occupational safety experts, organized labor, academics and researchers to identify and address challenges and find common ground.
Speakers will include U.S. Representative Carolyn Maloney (NY-12); John Feal (FealGood Foundation); Sally Regenhard (Christian Regenhard Center); and others.
Participating organizations include: FDNY Uniformed EMT’s, Paramedics, and Fire Inspectors; Uniformed Firefighters Association; NYPD Sergeant’s Benevolent Association; CUNY School of Public Health; US Department of Homeland Security; and others.
Technology demonstrations will include the FDNY’s drone unit and virtual reality (VR) applications for training.
