Sally Regenhard, RACERS Faculty Mark Chuck Strozier Retirement

Sally Regenhard and RaCERS Faculty joined on May 17 with a diverse collection of scholars, government officials, and former students to mark the retirement of Charles “Chuck” Strozier. Strozier is known to us primarily for his work related to 9/11, most notably the book Until the Fires Stopped Burning: 9/11 and new York City in the Words and Experiences of Survivors and Witnesses.

Strozier is well-known for his work on biography of psychoanalyst Heinz Kohut and Abraham Lincoln.

Current Center on Terrorism staff assembled an impressive program that spanned Chuck’s life from growing up in Chicago to his time at John Jay College. A series of presentations and remarks came in-person and via video recording from a host of scholars, academics, students, and others.

Sally Regenhard said “Chuck Strozier and the center on Terrorism have always been supportive of our mission at the Regenhard Center. The diverse first responders here today [at his retirement event] are evidence of his commitment.”

Strozier plans on continuing his research and outreach as an emeritus faculty member at the College.
