October 2015 –RaCERS organizes, chairs panel on law enforcement technology transfer at IACP 2015

RaCERS organized and moderated a panel on technology transfer designed to explain the process and challenges on moving new technologies “from the lab to the street.” The panel used advances in video analytics as an example of emerging technologies that hold the potential to transform police operations. The panel included William Pottenger and Michael Tobia of the US Department of Homeland Security’s University Center of Excellence for Command, Control, Interoperability, Center for Advanced Data Analytics (CCICADA) at Rutgers University, and Frank Straub, RaCERS Advisory Board member.
